last night at some point succulentthighs asked on her blog, ‘how do you draw anders’ and i checked my dash before coffee today, so it got me thinking… why not add my observations to the mix? now, i’m not an artist by any means, but here’s how i, as a bona-fide looker-atter of many bioware characters, would lend my assistance to anyone wanting draw them.

ANDERS: nine parts forehead, six parts nose, two parts puppy eyes, three parts wobble mouth. mix with three years of aching and one year of solitude. add a dash of sewers and a sprinkle of pigeons.

KAIDAN ALENKO: start with the eyebrows. it is all people will notice anyway. in fact screw the eyebrows just draw a big juicy butt.

ALISTAIR: if you’re not drawing him behind a giant wheel of cheese with his eyebrows pointing in thirteen separate directions then idk who you’re drawing but it is not alistair.

JACK: you’re screwed. draw a circle on the floor. summon satan. sell your soul and the souls of your loved ones in exchange for satan to draw her scars and tattoos. if satan is having a bad day, don’t fucking draw jack.

JAMES VEGA: start with a slab of beef. become one with the slab of beef. then draw a bunch of unconnected muscles and some criss-cross designs and you’re set. don’t forget: the tenderness of james vega’s wibbly wobbly woobly eyes is directly proportional to his rock solid beefington. the bigger the muscles, the more anime james vega’s eyes should get.

EDI: imagine unicorn farts and boob rainbows; become one with your inner male nerd power fantasy. this will undoubtedly work. but remember, deep down, EDI knows you are looking at her. be sure to put plenty of uranus puns in her expression.

AVELINE VALLEN: draw the ember island players version of toph from avatar: the last airbender. put red hair on her. you are done now.

GARRUS VAKARIAN: spend time among the moody kittens of this world. (can it wait? i’m in the middle of licking myself thoughtfully and ignoring you.) their mouths will give you insight into capturing garrus’s expression. then give up because it is impossible to draw turians.

ZAEED MASSANI: submit your drawing tools to the gods of power metal. zaeed massani can only be drawn with thunderbolts and lightning.

LEGION: lol that’s some robot shit right there. draw your desk lamp and hope no one notices.

MORDIN SOLUS: you will need a piece of macaroni for reference. if you have found your macaroni good you are done.

ISABELA: hey don’t draw her white.

THANE KRIOS: psychedelic disco sex god gecko. farewell world you are attracted to a lizard.

MORRIGAN: remember every bump and whisper in the dark of your childhood. the fear you felt that paralyzed you in place, unable to glance around a corner or peer under your bed. the knowledge that the world did not disappear when you closed your eyes but rather the darkness became infinite, and ghostly faces appeared in mirrors without being summoned, and belief was all you needed for magic to be real. good now you are ready. draw morrigan.
